Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday directed the Education Ministry to review the situation before reopening.
The government is considering reopening educational institutions and has decided to assess the situation, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said while briefing the reporters after the cabinet meeting held virtually today.
An inter-ministerial meeting will be held by next Sunday or Monday to assess the situation, the Cabinet secretary said.
educational institutions as those remained shut for the last one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also asked to ensure safety of resident students before the institutions will reopen.
She gave the directive while presiding over the Cabinet meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat. She joined it virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban.
The institutions remain closed since March 17, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
